Technology and services offered to companies

DR&D Department

The activity of L´Urederra in R&D involves the implementation of two types of R&D projects:

• Technology acquisition projects. These are promoted by the centre and/or in cooperation with other technological centres, universities and companies, necessary for the prior acquisition of pre-transferable knowledge of technologies of interest for Navarran industry.
• Technology transfer projects. These are carried out under contract with companies and are confidential.

L´Urederra operational areas in Technological R&D include:

• Machinery/Mechanical Engineering, specialising in the innovation of production processes, including innovative manufacturing technologies, application of new techniques and materials in the development of machinery.
• Materials, mainly including the field of nanotechnologies, treatment of organic/inorganic interfaces, synthesis of functional organic compounds, advanced processing of plastics, advanced materials (intelligent, sensorized, multi-component, biodegradable) and materials developed from renewable natural resources.
• The environment, including areas such as new waste management techniques, reduction, recovery, recycling and reutilisation of urban, agricultural and industrial waste, clean production technologies, implementation of optimised environmental techniques and development of sustainable production technologies.

Technological services

The mission of the Department of Advanced Technological Services is to provide standard services to the industrial sector, responding to a short-term need which is deeply set within the client’s production lines in operation. Among the most common technological services provided by L´Urederra are:

• Advice for the implementation of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9000) and Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14000, EMAS).
• Advice for the implementation of Food Health and Safety Assurance Systems (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points – HACCP, IFS, BRC, GMP).
• Implementation of Occupational Health and Safety Measures.
• Support regarding the optimisation of industrial lines, including production management and process flow improvement aspects.
• On-site evaluation of specific production problems and design of corrective actions, with implementation of the production improvements that have been designed in industrial plants by the centre’s own personnel
• Design of new production machinery.
• Advice on the design of farms, including improving the activities of existing farms.
• Technological audits and diagnostics / Individual analyses.
